Surf tours and pregnancy

So what’s up with this.  It’s March already!  Man, February decided to just fly by!

In late January Scott took a friend and some of his buddies visiting from the States on a test-run tour before his first paying tour group came in mid Feb!  And boy was it a good thing he did, cause every possible thing went wrong on the test group.  Things were going well for the first couple days, but then someone decided to break into the car (breaking 2 windows in the process) and steal a wallet, a cell phone, and a one of the guy’s bags (which had his passport in it).  So at least Scott got to figure out all the kinks with the test group…like how to file a police report and how to get an emergency passport made!  (By the way, let me just say, working with the American consulate here is a delight!  I’m not sure if it’s because I go in expecting things to work like they do in Morocco, and then am wonderfully surprised at the timelines and efficiency of how things are accomplished, or what.  But I love the US consulate.)

So, when the first official paying group (from Norway of all surfing places) came through, Scott was ready and things mostly went off without a hitch!  They had a great time, got some decent waves, and other than a small bout of 3 of the 4 of them getting sick (from eating hamburgers at one of the only Western restaurants they visited during their entire trip) it was a success!  I’m so proud of Scott and happy for him that his job is something he loves!  And he’s got 2 more groups booked for March!

In my world, tomorrow marks 33 weeks of being pregnant.  I cannot believe that in just 7ish short weeks, I will be birthing the little human that has been growing inside of me all this time!  I’ve got to say, I’m sooooo tired of being pregnant, but at the same time, I’m not entirely sure I’m ready to give birth and be responsible for this baby outside of my belly!  I guess over the next 7ish weeks, I will get to the point where I just want this baby out!  At least I hope so.  :-)

But in all seriousness, we are thrilled at this new addition!  2 weeks ago I went shopping for fabric and last week got our tailor to make 4 crib sheets and 2 changing pad covers.  I love the tailor.  He made all of it for 120 dirham (about $15).  This week we are gonna commission a dresser to be built (to hold all of little man’s clothes and act as a changing table).  So everything’s coming together nicely.

The only thing we still need to figure out is what we are gonna name this baby boy.  We have a couple in mind, but really I just want to wait and meet him before we decide what to call him.  Funny story, I was looking at plane tickets to travel back to America after the baby is born so all our friends and family can meet the little guy, and I found some really cheap flights.  I wanted to buy them since they were so cheap, and started the process of filling out all our information to purchase them.  Then they asked for the name of the lap infant that would be traveling with us.  What?!?!  I don’t know what we are gonna name him!  Can’t I just tell you after he’s born?!  Nobody else is pressuring me to figure this out now!  :-/  So I couldn’t buy plane tickets because the airline wants me to commit to a name.DSCF1517

You look beaming, Ashley. I think you have put on a little weight, I don’t think it will hurt you any.
